Call-out – Small Histories #1

Out of Kilter Theatre are looking for 6 female actors to play a range of characters, playing ages late teens/early 20s to 60+, for a new work.

As with previous work, our style is predominantly non-naturalistic and evocative rather than narrative realism and, though we are not a wholly physical theatre company, we will be exploring the use of physicality in the piece; in addition, the confidence to sing solo and without musical backing will be an advantage.

The initial phase is for a research & development process in Autumn 2018 (dates to be confirmed). R&D funding has been applied for and, if the bid is successful, actors will be paid at ITC rates. Our aim is to move to a rehearsal/production phase in late 2018/early 2019 and so we are looking for a long-term commitment to the project.

Our plan is for ‘pop-up performances’ of the work at intimate and unusual venues in the region. We have met with Link4Life, the Rochdale Borough Cultural organisation, to discuss a partnership with them for ongoing support and development. If this support is forthcoming it is likely that some of the rehearsal/development work will be in the North Manchester/Rochdale area.

We plan to hold auditions w/c 3rd September 2018.

Please send CV + headshot to by 20th August 2018.
